Job Description
Financial Management 1. Maintain Financial Records: Accurately record, classify, and report all financial transactions, including income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity. 2. Prepare Financial Statements: Generate balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements to provide insight into the retreat's financial performance. 3. Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable: Ensure timely payment of bills, invoices, and salaries, and follow up on outstanding payments from guests, suppliers, and partners. 4. Conduct Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide recommendations to management. Accounting and Compliance 1. Ensure Compliance with Accounting Standards: Maintain knowledge of and adherence to relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations, such as GST, income tax, and company law. 2. Manage Tax Compliance: Ensure timely filing of tax returns, payment of taxes, and maintenance of tax records. 3. Maintain Accounting Systems and Processes: Develop, implement, and maintain efficient accounting systems, processes, and controls to ensure accurate and reliable financial information. Budgeting and Forecasting 1. Prepare Budgets and Forecasts: Collaborate with management to prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to support the retreat's strategic objectives. 2. Monitor and Analyze Variance: Track and analyze variances between actual and budgeted/forecasted financial performance, and provide explanations and recommendations. Internal Controls and Audit 1. Establish and Maintain Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and validity of financial data. 2. Coordinate Audits and Reviews: Assist external auditors and internal reviewers to ensure smooth and efficient audit processes. Reporting and Communication 1. Prepare Financial Reports: Generate financial reports, including management accounts, financial statements, and ad-hoc reports, to support decision-making. 2. Communicate Financial Information: Provide clear, concise, and timely financial information to management, stakeholders, and external parties. Team Management 1. Lead and Manage Accounting Team: Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff to ensure effective and efficient financial operations. 2. Coordinate with Other Departments: Collaborate with other departments, such as front office, food and beverage, and wellness, to ensure seamless financial operations. Other Responsibilities 1. Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Maintain knowledge of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in accounting and finance. 2. Perform Special Projects: Undertake special projects, such as financial modeling, feasibility studies, and process improvements, as assigned by management.
