Job Description

Role: Senior Accountant Experience: 3+ years Skills: MS EXCEL / PAYROLL / MS WORD / ZOHO SOFTWARE HANDLING / GST FILING AND RETURN / CUSTOMER HANDLING Language:English, Malayalam , Hindi A senior accountant plays a crucial role in managing a company's financial health and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. Common duties and responsibilities of a senior accountant include: Financial Management 1. Overseeing Accounting Operations: Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll. 2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts to guide business planning and decision-making. Financial Reporting 1. Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Closings: Conduct month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. 2. Financial Statements Preparation: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with accounting principles and standards. Compliance and Auditing 1. Ensuring Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. 2. Internal and External Audits: Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries. Analysis and Reconciliation 1. Account Reconciliations: Perform account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records. 2. Variance Analysis: Analyze financial discrepancies and explain budget variances to provide insights into financial performance. Process Improvement 1. Policy Development: Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness. 2. System Enhancements: Recommend and implement enhancements to financial systems and processes. Team Management 1. Supervising Staff: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance. 2. Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for staff to ensure they are up-to-date with current accounting standards and practices. Strategic Support 1. Financial Advice: Provide financial advice and insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making. 2. Special Projects: Lead or participate in special projects as assigned, such as mergers and acquisitions, system implementations, or process re-engineering. Documentation and Record-Keeping 1. Maintaining Records: Maintain and update financial records and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness. 2. Financial Policies and Procedures: Document and update financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance and consistency across the organization. Salary : 15,000 to 25,000
